So this is Christmas!
I haven't written on the blog for 2 months. But I have been writing. I finished (won). This was a wonderful experience. I was able to write content and quantity without concerning myself with editing, spelling, etc.
I am about to engage in editing the novel now and am looking at all the publishing options.
I am back at home working and enjoying my moment to moment days. Spending time with very good friends and with the pets.
I am treating myself to some nice things this coming Christmas week. First trip to 10,000 waves and fist time for "British high tea" at the St. Francis Hotel (Santa Fe style of course).
I had a lovely visit from my brother Michael and his wife Ginny. Both writers living in Ashland, Oregon, they were here on a dual mission.
Michael was cheching in with Outside Magazine located here in Santa Fe. He is a contributing writer who started with the magazine when it was known as Mariah and located in Chicago (1976). He also writes for National Geographic Adventure. Photo and audio clip of Mike below right. Article on Gustave the killer crocodile is one of the many adventures Mike has had over the years.
Ginny is doing an article on the Shalako ceremonies at Zuni Pueblo for The Smithsonian Magazine.
Ginny has done quite a bit of traveling for National Geographic. and here are some of her field notes from China and a story on the Blue Nile
Mike has an audio clip about the crocodile story he did last Spring. (Writer Michael McRae tells of dodging bullets in Burundi while looking for a man-eating croc named Gustave, who is believed to be the largest Nile crocodile in the world.)
With the new year coming soon, I am of course looking forward to new ventures. I will keep you posted on them as they occur. I make many venture lists and look into the possibilities for creating these wonderful projects. I only pursue those projects that look promising and positive for me.
Oh yes, I had Lasik eye surgery the week before Thanksgiving. The healing is going smoothly now, but I was one of the few with problematic recovery post-surgery. Glad to report that I should be adjusted to all this by March or April. I can now find things that I put down somewhere in the house! I was getting VERY nearsighted.
